Welcome to Aptum!

In a previous blog post, we shared the news that we’d be re-branding as a new company following our recent acquisition by Digital Colony. I’m delighted to announce that today is the first day we’ll be operating under our new name and brand — Aptum.

Aptum means ‘adaptability’, an essential business trait that’s key to success in our rapidly evolving market. Businesses today are faced with exponential data growth and they need reliable technology platforms that harness the power of their data to enable better decision making and generate new insights and deeper customer engagement.

We’re committed to helping our customers unlock the full potential of their data as infrastructure with our data center, cloud, connectivity and managed services solutions. We’ll continue to roll out new and enhanced product offerings, including two we unveiled today — Managed AWS, which complements our existing managed cloud solutions, and a cloud connect expansion, which offers a direct, dedicated and secure pipeline to more cloud-based services.

Aptum not only reflects our vision of the future, but also represents our heritage. Over the past 20 years, we’ve built a foundation of trust and loyalty with our customers, helping them store, manage, move and secure their most important data – with more than 4,500 of our customers having partnered with us for an average of seven years.

Aptum will continue to be headquartered in Toronto, led by many of the executives who helped establish Cogeco Peer 1 as an industry leader — as well as some new members to our executive team who bring a fresh perspective and valuable industry expertise.

Moving forward, we’ll operate with two business units. Our data center business will concentrate on helping customers across North America, Europe and LATAM roll out multi-cloud services and reinforce our position as a leading hybrid solutions managed provider. Our fiber business will be Canada’s first independent, neutral-host provider of small cell and 5G infrastructure. We’ll also continue to offer enterprise and wholesale fiber connectivity through our extensive metro networks across Toronto and Montreal, as well as through our international MPLS network.

We’ve established a stellar reputation for helping our customers in North America, Latin America and Europe solve their most complex business challenges by acting as a true partner rather than as a supplier. As Aptum we will continue to build on that foundation by offering organizations deep technical expertise from the initial consultation, through architecture and design to ongoing management and support. We’re excited by the opportunities new technologies such as 5G and AI offer and we’re looking forward to helping our customers take full advantage of them to lead to greater success.
